How much it hurts is largely

The good news is there are a lot of things you can do to minimize waxing discomfort.

The most important step is to find an experienced, well-trained waxer. A gifted professional will make the procedure as quick and painless as possible. They’ll know tricks to keep you comfortable. If they do a lot of waxing they’re also more likely to use better, more expensive products like Bombshell Wax which includes essential oils and buffering ingredients to make waxing faster , easier, safer and more comfortable. Seek referrals from friends who wax as this is no time to let your fingers do the walking in the Yellow Pages.

Now that you’ve found a reputable waxer and have made an appointment there are a few things you can and should do beforehand. Avoid caffeine, nicotine and sugar for at least two hours prior to treatment as these will increase your sensitivity. Consider taking aspirin, Tylenol, Advil or some other over-the-counter analgesic. Relax and reduce any sources of stress in your life. Try to schedule treatment when you’re most likely to be relaxed. Give yourself time to get to your appointment. Some people find a pre-wax glass of wine or a cocktail helps them to relax and dulls the pain.

When you’re in the room with your waxer communicate any fears or anxieties. Talking through the procedure often helps. Wear loose clothing and take off anything constricting or remotely discomfiting. Ask for a fan if it’s stuffy or hot. Ask for more heat if it’s chilly.

Now that you’re ready to be waxed make sure your waxer applies pressure to or rubs the area that has just been waxed. A good waxer will know this without being told. In addition, there are lots of things you can do to take your mind away from any pain or discomfort your body might be experiencing . Nothing works for everybody but you might experiment with one or more of these techniques:

*Hold a towel or stuffed animal to squeeze

*Suck on mints or hard candy or chew gum

*Focus on why you’re there and the end result of your efforts

*Use breathing and visualization (think Lamaze) strategies to disassociate yourself from the procedure and any discomfort

*Bring a friend for support and distracting chit chat

*Arrange for a foot massage or reflexology during treatment

Remember, the first waxing is always the most difficult. Consistent waxing of a body area will reduce the amount of hair that grows in that spot and will make remaining hairs easier to remove reenex cps. Subsequent waxings will get progressively easier and less painful.

Cosmetic Surgery Procedure

Throughout life, natural signs of aging occur on all of our bodies. The forehead broadcasts a telltale sign of aging more so than any other place on our body. Fortunately a forehead lift is one of the easiest and among the most common procedures to fight the visible signs of aging. During the aging process the muscles and skin on the forehead begin to lose a great deal of elasticity and eventually causes drooping. This will give the appearance of fatigue, frustration and sometimes anger.

Smoothing out the lines and lifting the sagging skin will give the forehead a younger and more refreshing look . Generally most people choose to have a brow lift performed between the ages of 40 – 60, but because it’s such a quick and simple procedure, anyone can use it to enhance their appearance.

Today, brow lifts are generally performed using one or two techniques. The first technique is more traditional as it requires a lengthy incision along the hairline, starting at the beginning of one ear, and ending at the other. The hair on both sides of the incision line is tied back, and the forehead skin is separated from the tissue below. The skin is then stretched across the forehead and reattached within the hairline by tight stitches and sutures. Most surgeons then cover the area with surgical gauze and bandages, but some choose not to.

A less invasive procedure used to perform a brow lift is called an endoscopic brow lift. Instead of using one long incision, the doctor makes around three half inch cuts into the top of the scalp where a pencil thin scope is then inserted . The scope is connected to a camera which allows the doctor to view beneath the skin without having to cut it open.

While the camera is placed into one incision a surgical tool is used inside another. The forehead skin is lifted while the underlying tissues are smoothed out or removed entirely. The smaller incisions are then washed away and stitched . Depending on the doctor, sometimes they are covered with gauze or antiseptics.

Adidas unveils new 3D printed shoe

Adidas just debuted its newest shoe — which has a 3D-printed sole.

It plans to start mass producing them next year and expects to have made more than 100,000 pairs by the end of 2018. The company would not disclose where the shoes will be manufactured.

Adidas partnered with Silicon Valley-based startup Carbon to create the shoe, which uses a new technology called digital light synthesis Neo skin lab.

3D printed materials are often rigid or malleable and wouldn’t work well for a shoe. But with Carbon’s technology, the material is springy and able to bounce back almost instantaneously.

The technology works by using UV lasers to project a pattern for a midsole liquid. The light turns the liquid into a solid and the result is a flexible, but durable, midsole. The technology could save time and money in the production process and will allow for greater customization bull market.

“We can produce … up to 100 times faster than other 3D printing and additive manufacturing processes,” an Adidas spokesperson told CNNTech.

History of Plastic Surgery

When most people use the term Plastic Surgery, they more often than not use it in reference to cosmetic surgery. Few people actually stop to think that Plastic Surgery covers a far wider range of surgical procedures and that cosmetic surgery is only one type of surgery related to Plastic Surgery. The full scope of Plastic Surgery is quite wide if one stops to think about it and more often than not, is related to, and, plays a fundamental role in conjunction with other fields of medicine and surgical procedures pertaining to the field of general surgery. Plastic Surgery is basically concerned with the reconstruction of the surface of the body whether that has to do with the reconstruction of facial or body disfigurations that are either congenital in nature or, acquired due to accidents or illness for example, cancer related disfigurations Building Technology and Management .

Although Plastic Surgery goes as far back as Ancient Egypt the first physicians who actually placed a more scientific scope in the field of Plastic Surgery and, to be more precise, cosmetic surgery were two Sicilians Gustav and Antonio Branka . Father and son, in 1400, they outlined the basic guidelines which plastic surgeons should follow when undertaking reconstructive nose surgery. However, the first to ever create a center for Plastic Surgery and to take the first steps to making Plastic Surgery an equally accepted field of medicine was another Italian, Taliakosi.

However, it was not until after World War I that Plastic Surgery developed its full scope of use. This was due to the enormous amount of facial and body disfigurations which either resulted in Plastic Surgery being undertaken for aesthetic reasons, to regain functional abilities or, more often than not, for both.

From then on and up until today, Plastic Surgery continues to play an ever increasingly important role as a field of medicine in today’s’ society either on its own when referring to simple cosmetic surgery or as part of, and in relation to other fields of surgical specialties Neo skin lab.

Bifocal Contact Lenses

Anyone who has needed prescription bifocal glasses in the past waited for years in order to be able to wear bifocal contact lenses. Bifocal contact lenses are now more than a wish for anyone who ever wanted to shed their bifocal glasses for the convenience and look of contacts. All bifocal contact lenses are designed to provide corrected vision to people who have a condition that is known as presbyopia PolyU Wechat. Presbyopia is farsightedness resulting from a reduced ability to focus caused by loss of elasticity of the crystalline lens with age and requires those who have it to wear bifocal contact lenses.

People who required something like bifocal contact lenses will often have to hold reading material or other reading material closer to the eyes in order to make out the words. Just about every maker of bifocal contact lenses is available in either a soft contact lens or a gas permeable contact lens. The latest in bifocal contact lens technology and development also allow contact lens wearers to choose disposable contact lenses that can be replaced after wearing them for just a short time. Some of the disposable contact lenses allow users to have new bifocal contact lenses for each day of the week .

Bifocal contact lenses are made similar to the way bifocal glasses were designed to offer wearers two different visions when looking in a particular direction. Bifocal contact lenses have two different strengths that correct nearsighted vision and farsighted vision. Each time a person puts on their bifocal contact lenses, he or she may take some time to get used to the way the two different powers blend when viewing various distances, but the eye adjusts quickly and any contrasting or blurred areas will be differentiated in no time.

Bifocal contact lenses can be made in different designs including concentric, alternating and simultaneous vision styles. Bifocal contact lenses that are made with the concentric design have the center part of the lens with the distance power and the outside portion of the lens has the closer power. Bifocal contact lenses that are made with the alternating vision style are quite similar to the way traditional bifocal eyeglasses are made with a line separating the two powers into the top half and the bottom half of the lens . Bifocal contact lenses made with the simultaneous vision style places the center of the lens over the cornea so that the two powers are split over the pupil and the eye trains itself to tell the difference between the powers that accommodate the proper vision necessary.

Ten Habits That Accelerate Aging

People sometimes ask me why I always look so serious. The truth is, I’m not actually upset … I’ve just trained my face to maintain the most neutral expression possible—no hints of smiles or frowns—so that I minimize my chances of getting wrinkles. Yes, I’m that obsessed. Ponce de Léon may not have found the mythical Fountain of Youth, but I am determined to keep fighting the good fight, always seeking new and novel ways to turn back the clock .

Our skin is subject to both intrinsic aging and extrinsic aging. Intrinsic aging is a normal and unavoidable part of the aging process: Starting in your twenties, collagen production decreases, cellular turnover slows, and skin begins to show subtle signs of age, such as fine lines, thinness, and dryness. Extrinsic aging, on the other hand, is caused by factors within our control. Serious skin-care devotees know that sun exposure and smoking are the biggest causes of extrinsic aging, but there are a host of other small habits that have detrimental effects on the skin. Some of these habits may seem harmless, but over time, they can contribute to our facial skin’s looking many years older than it really is.

1. Not Wearing Sunglasses
Making facial expressions is a little like a workout for our maxillofacial muscles. After a lifetime of squinting—either from the sun or from poor eyesight—the muscles around our eyes become tighter and less able to relax, causing the overlying skin to wrinkle. Wearing sunglasses when it’s bright outside can help us maintain a neutral expression on our faces and prevent crow’s feet.

2. Sleeping in Makeup
Although it happens to us all every so often, regularly sleeping with makeup on has negative effects on the skin. Our pores secrete sebum, which lubricates and protects our skin, but when they’re clogged with makeup, sebum production backs up. The result is not only troublesome acne, but also skin that isn’t as moisturized and supple as it should be.

3. Sleeping on Your Stomach
Besides being bad for your back, sleeping on your stomach with your face on the pillow can cause skin to be smushed for hours on end. Young skin bounces back easily, but as skin gradually becomes less adaptable and elastic, the grooves and impressions left by the pillow can turn into permanent lines and wrinkles.

4. Not Eating Enough Fat
While no one would suggest that Ding Dongs and Twinkies will help you eat your way to good skin, it’s important to have some fat in your diet, along with the requisite healthy fruits and vegetables. There’s a thin layer of subcutaneous fat underneath our skin all over the body, and this layer provides shape and contour to the facial skin, a contour that’s closely associated with youth. A lifetime of extreme fat restriction can deplete this layer, leaving the skin on top to droop and sag. Our body naturally loses this fat layer as we age, and helping it along by restricting our dietary-fat intake only speeds up the process .

5. Cleansing Too Vigorously
It is possible to have too much of a good thing. While it’s important to cleanse skin every day, it’s just as important to do the cleansing gently. Rubbing too vigorously can tear the connective tissue that supports the skin, eventually causing sagging. Using water that’s too hot can actually cause the sebum on our skin to liquefy and rinse away, leaving it dry and brittle. Harsh soap-based cleansers can have the same effect.

6. Yo-Yo Dieting
Repeatedly gaining and losing weight over the course of several years forces skin to constantly stretch or shrink. Eventually, the elastic structure of the skin becomes damaged, and it just can’t spring back like it used to. Especially when skin naturally starts to lose its collagen, yo-yo dieting accelerates the aging process, making skin look slack, uneven, and loose.

7. Too Much Alcohol
It’s not just that alcohol makes you more likely to fall asleep on your stomach while wearing makeup; it also creates inflammation. Alcohol dilates blood vessels close to the skin, which results in a flushed complexion and a feeling of warmth, and when you consume alcohol in excess, those capillaries can break, leading to a permanently discolored visage. Since alcohol is also a dehydrating agent, the lack of moisture can leave skin dry and prone to developing fine lines and wrinkles.

8. Too Many Products
If you use a toner, a serum, an eye cream, a night cream, or another combination of multiple products, check with a dermatologist to make sure that you aren’t doing more harm than good. Many products contain ingredients that can interact negatively with other products, or even neutralize them entirely. Not only can bad reactions wreak havoc on your skin, but buying counteractive products is also a waste of money. Ingredients that are more prone to react poorly with other products include benzoyl peroxide, retinols, and glycolic acid.

9. Not Enough Sleep
As if anybody needed an excuse to get more sleep … During deep sleep, our bodies rejuvenate our skin by digesting dead cells and regenerating new ones. When someone has a prolonged lack of sleep, this “taking out the trash” doesn’t get done, and the result is that the skin begins to look dull and lifeless. A lack of sleep also results in higher levels of cortisol, a stress hormone that promotes inflammation.

10. Running
The good news about running is that it promotes blood flow and releases stress. The bad news is that it exacerbates the effects of gravity, and the repetitive up-and-down pounding motion can eventually lead to sagging. Dermatologists caution that avid runners simply avoid other behaviors that can contribute to aging, and start an anti-aging skin care regimen earlier than normal.

Sometimes it seems like women just can’t win; even when we think we’re doing all we can, we discover that everything we do is still leading us to an early date with the plastic surgeon’s office. A healthy lifestyle is the first step toward maintaining great skin well into adulthood, but making sure to steer clear of these small but destructive habits can help you stay forever young … or at least look that way.
